DownyHaven Premium Bedding Maintenance Guide: Goose Down Comforters, Pillows, Silk Pillowcases, Cotton Pillowcases, and Cool Quilts
To ensure that your DownyHaven premium bedding products maintain their optimal condition, we offer the following professional care recommendations for goose down pillows, silk pillowcases, cotton pillowcases, and cool quilts.
First Time Use
- Goose Down Comforters and Pillows: Before initial use, gently pat and shake the products to restore their original fluffiness, then hang in a well-ventilated environment for 3-6 hours.
You may find sometimes there is an ordor of your pillow. This is totally normal because our goose down pillows are naturally produced and manufactured in our factory and there could be a bit of smell left. But all you need to do is air it out and wait for a couple of hours. The smell would gone naturally.
How to Wash Your Down Pillows
To effectively wash your down pillows and maintain their loft and comfort, start by using a front-loading washing machine, as it's gentler on the pillows compared to top-loaders with agitators. Place two pillows in the machine to keep it balanced, and use a small amount of mild detergent suitable for delicate items. Opt for a gentle wash cycle with warm water and include an extra rinse to remove all soap residue. Dry the pillows on low heat with a few tennis balls or dryer balls in the dryer to fluff the down and prevent clumping. Make sure the pillows are completely dry before using them to avoid mildew. Regular maintenance, including fluffing and periodic washing, can extend the life and comfort of your down pillows.
